About the Business
Established in 1890. The Meeker Mansion was finished in 1890 for Ezra and Eliza Jane Meeker. In their 60's by the time the 17 room Italianate Victorian Mansion replaced the Meekers former two room cabin located in Pioneer Park. Though once thought of as the Ezra Meeker Mansion the house was designed, payed for, and owned by Eliza Jane Meeker. The house was occupied by Meekers until 1909 when Eliza Jane passed away and Ezra walked away. From then on this has been a home for widows and orphans operated by the Grand Army of the Republic, various nursing homes, boarding houses, and doctor's offices until the Puyallup Historical Society took over in 1970.

I loved finally getting to tour this beautiful home. I am impressed by how well it is maintained and presented. Go see it. Take your time and don't miss the writing on the walls.

Really cool place! We went here on "free Museum day" and fell in love with the place. For such a small place there's actually a lot to see, the staff are super nice and it's very well preserved. We donated the normal entry fee and plan on returning next month.

Really nice. Loved it.
There are other places to check out as a tourist but I really liked this place.
Also many places to eat nearby.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer S.Phoenix, AZ9413068Mar 17, 2010First to Review
A very beautiful, old style mansion. The story behind it's building inspiration is quite exquisite. The fee is fairly cheap (which if I recall is $4.00), and you get a pamphlet about the history for your self-tour. The house is filled with many architectural detail, it's amazing! It also has most of the original furniture and decor. I was most amused with not only the detailing but the size of the furniture as well. You can truly see that times have changed, it seems as though the house was meant for shorter beings. Even shorter than me and I'm only 5'1"!!! Insane!!! Nonetheless, this is a must-visit place:)

We stopped by here one weekend where they were having a large community yard sale. I appreciate the Meeker Mansion people doing these kinds of community events that help bring the community even closer together.

Beautiful! The mansion was having special late hours because they had set up holiday lights. So when we stopped in there were no other guests but us. The mansion society member that was working the front desk was able to give us a personalized tour and it was amazing! He had a lot of great information and it was definetly a great bang for your buck.

It was very interesting to see the Mansion. The tour was great, and very informative. If you want to see a very important part of puyallup history and american history definitely go take the tour!
