This is a sad little museum. There are many things, but almost nothing has context. Plenty of signs saying "don't touch" or "not for sale" but nothing to explain what I was looking at.
The walls are covered in faded, unlabeled pictures of people and airplanes. There are cases jammed full of items that are difficult to look out due to the poor displays, and have no labels so what are they?
It was reasonably priced at $7, but only took 5 minutes to wander through.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jim H.Bonney Lake, WA0273Aug 12, 2023
I absolutely love this place I've been coming here for over a decade. We attend the air show every year it is amazing! The things that these guys do to keep this vintage aircraft in the air is incredible! Tons of knowledge and history here lots and lots of fun!

Can't call this a museum because a museum simply can't change the historical facts. They have a great RUSSIAN plane that has been built by Russian engineers, but somebody got offended by a Russian flag on it and replaced it with the Nazi Ukrainian flag. Are you guys out of your "brilliant" minds? Might as well put a Swastika on a Russian plane and say that Hitler is still alive. This plane was built by Russians that fought Nazis just to put Nazi's flag on it. A museum should not change historical facts.

My hubby's a SERIOUS aviation fan, and we're pretty spoiled by the Air Force museum here in the Dayton, OH area, but the one plane that's his ABSOLUTE favorite, the Corsair, is MIA here in this area. We've been on a quest to find it here locally and on recent trips back east, with no luck, so when he heard that there was one on the W. Coast, not too far from where we would be visiting in Oregon, this tiny but well-laid out museum became our (his...) first MUST STOP location, even if it was several hours out of our way!!
The Corsair was back on display after several years of being completely restored, and even from a non-fanatic's point of view, they did a GREAT job on this baby, and are justifiably proud of it here!! Interesting, informative displays, lots of history, and very informative friendly guides if you need more info. Not a ton to see, but if you're in the area (or even several hours/time zones away...) it's definitely worth a visit!!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jun 19, 2016
This is a small, but high quality air museum. Their collection is WW2 and Vietnam era "war birds". They have some very unique pieces for such a small museum, which they fully restored and put back into air worthiness.
This is an all volunteer organization, making what they have accomplished all the more impressive.
A highlight for me (I love the sound of a Rolls-Merlin radial!!) is the annual warbirds air show. This is held on Father's day week end.
Many of the planes and helos in the show, plus others from the region, fly in and perform for the crowd. There are also static displays of aircraft under restoration. It's just good, family fun!
Taking it up to 5 stars from me will need a few more years of curation and some more fly-in planes at the air show.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nick M.Vancouver, WA1271691Jan 12, 2018
It's pretty nice here. The admission charge is a little high considering there aren't all that many things to see. But I know it's going to a good cause. Regardless of that, the planes to see were really nice. It was clean, in good shape, and unique sites to see for how small it is. The employees are very nice, and we just wanted somewhere to take my dad while visiting.
It would be nice if there was something for the kids to do. And we were bummed that the movie they usually show wasn't playing. But it was still neat to be able to enter one cockpit (since there aren't very many pieces to see). Overall, I recommend checking out the Olympic Flight Museum if you're ever in Olympia or just passing through.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Chris W.Gig Harbor, WA02Dec 7, 2017
Went there earlier in the year to check it out after finding out about it when getting a membership at the Seattle Flight Museum. My kids love it. The place is well taken care of, has great planes (loved the L-39) and the best part was the guy at the front was very nice, welcoming and helpful!
I will caution to call before you go. My family drove down there again in October. Checked their Facebook page and website to make sure they were open but when we got there, a sign was on the door saying it was closed for an event. Only thing I did not do before was call. They should post that type of closure on their website or Facebook to let everyone know ahead of time before driving down to see them. Kids were disappointed but ended up going to a farm there in Olympia to pick out pumpkins for Halloween instead.
Still giving 5 stars because the guy the first time was very nice and it is a great museum.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris W.Gig Harbor, WA253Aug 13, 2017

I went to a meeting at this flight museum. You sit right in the middle of all the planes! It was so much fun! Really enjoyed looking and learning about all the planes. I plan on taking the kids to walk through the museum.
