Ready to lounge on a beach or take a swim in a freshwater lake?  Lake Sammamish State Park, a favorite day-use destination, also accommodates picnicking, hiking, motorized and non-motorized boating, and water skiing.

Since 2005, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust has worked collaboratively with Washington State Parks on riparian restoration of the portion of Issaquah Creek that empties into Lake Sammamish. These efforts focus on salmon recovery with a particular emphasis on Chinook salmon, a species listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. Kokanee, a land-locked salmon, are native to the Lake Sammamish watershed. Unlike most salmon species that migrate out to live in the ocean, Kokanee live their entire life cycle in fresh water.
